Legislators have created laws and policies to ensure the protection of children and vulnerable people. We all agree with this. Those working with children have to undergo background checks. In Scotland they actually widened the scope of which employment has to provide such checks ( PVG ) however they voted AGAINST having to provide such checks themselves. So we have the legislators legislating for everyone else to follow, then omit themselves from having to do same. This is worrying as they often are among children and young people in their roles. Then we look at the amount of deviants that have been exposed in political parties. Anyone standing for election should provide these checks and anyone currently in office should also. It should be a mandatory requirement for anyone wishing to stand.

Well done Peter you just got my vote mate. This is such a simple policy that it should be in place. I would ask that you add an ammendment that the Metropolitan Polices files based upon historic investigations of previous MP’s Lords and high public servants, be opened to to public and all potential prosecutions be fulfilled with expected arrests to take place on the very day of the publication of those files. It should also first be made an arrestable offence for a member of the police to suggest the deletion and the shredding of files with promotions guaranteed for the arrensting officers.
