I am fairly sure it would be impossible to produce credible figures for how much profit or loss results from pretending it is a different time of day and changing the clocks twice a year but might it be a reasonable policy to just standardise on GMT?
There would be some grumbling but once everybody realised that they hadn’t all gone mouldy or turned purple as a result, by year two it would be largely forgotten that it was done in the past and by year ten, those who remembered it would wonder why it had gone on for so long.
