Force supermarkets to stop the cheaper price for members

If a shop like Costco says YOU MUST be a member to shop there, thats fine.

Other shops that offer cheaper prices for selling your data and signing up is not good.

Firstly, its bad enough seeing two different prices.

Secondly this is a rip off for consumers. The price difference is a lot sometimes.

Im up for free choice, but shops should offer ONE PRICE ONLY. So ban non members if you have to.

I cant define it in a good / better way, but hopefully you understand.

I understand this, companies like Costco also ask you to pay a joining fee. Plus you only really benefit if you buy in bulk, they sell what you need and you have transport.

Although when I initially read this I thought “no way”. I can’t afford to shop at my local Coop or Tesco without the discounts.

I live in a very deprived area. I see disabled old people doing their weekly shop in the local Coop as they can’t easily get to the big supermarkets. I can’t imagine how they manage on a pension when a tin of Heinz beans is £1.80

So while I like the idea I think the end customer would end up being worse off.

I think this is something the scrapping of net zero would massively help with, by having cheaper fuel to transport goods and cheaper gas & electric bills should result in the prices being driven down, it only takes one of these supermarkets to drop their prices and the rest will follow.

Although we’ve been completely stung by these big corps we shouldn’t make excuses for them and they should pay a price for their greed considering they’re on multimillion £ bonus’s and at record profits while axing working class people left, right and centre.

so I agree there has to be government pressure to help drive the costs of food and drinks down but net zero will play a massive part at the negotiation table in my opinion on this point.

I cannot see why this is a rip off for customers. You give Tesco, for example, your data. They reward you with cheaper prices. Why not? If your data is so sensitive that you do not want Tesco to see it then that is your choice, but you might also consider giving up your bank account, your mobile phone, your internet, and owning a car.
