Our military was out of date during the Falklands, things have gotten worse. During Iraq 2 and Afghan our soldiers had to thumb a lift on American Helicopters. That is embarassing. We need brand new fighter Jets including the F-47’s to compliment the planes that we have.
We need at least 3 more aircraft carriers and the accompanying flotilla. We need to release our our nuclear capability from NATO control and prepare for indipendence. Given the recent disaster of being pulled to the far far Nazi left by Europe who actually want to continue the forever war in the Ukraine, and by the right leanings of Trump who is trying to sue for peace, we need the freedom to say to hell with all of you we are going neutral on this one. But we need the military to be able to say that without painting targets over us.
We also need Land based and drone based energy weapon technology in case of hypersonic missile deployment from a natin like Russia who have already threatened us.
On that topic we need to fully assess Russias threat to sink the UK with a nuclear powered tsunami and we need to offer countermeasures that see the threat off.
I have seen the military waste, it is difficult to see how making it civil will reform it.
The military needs to be change to create 100,s of small purchase units. Military purchasers should not be entertained by suppliers.
