Restore the House of Lords to its proper state as an upper house

The House of Lords was a necessary and integral wing of this Kingdom’s government during eras of British greatness. What we see in the government now is a neutered, corrupted puppet of the political class that does not serve its purpose.

During our golden age of imperialism, the House of Lords was filled with the finest experts who had received the best educations from patriotic, historic universities. Filling the chambers were Hereditary aristocrats who held deep, ancient ties to the land and people, which made their best interests align exactly with the best interests of Great Britain. Appointments to the second house were not party cronies, they were the greatest pioneers in their fields. These people put Great Britain on top of the world, making them the natural opposite and enemy of the Marxist politicians who desecrate the United Kingdom today. Over decades, not only did the political class butcher Parliament’s second house until it became nothing but a retirement home for parasitic ex-MPs, they removed the house’s veto over the rootless lower house. Once the House of Commons had primacy, Great Britain fell from a global empire that held a homogeneous population and the power to conquer entire continents. Now, politicians have reduced us to a self-destructive wreck, giving away our land and fortunes to the third-world. Restoring the House of Lords will allow the glorious empire of our past to flourish once again, as it did when the upper house was a potent force.

I propose the restoration of all hereditary peers, the removal of the Prime Minister’s right to push party cronies into the second house and the restoration of an absolute veto right over the House of Commons.

the middle classes are very industrious but they are not good as rulers. We have been ruled by businessmen and not leaders for too long.
They are too individualistic and focus too much on the self and not enough on the country.
They see their successes as down to their own innate ability and therefore push for a meritocracy that has no protections or considerations on sanctity of a country, region, town or village. They make the entire country a competition between all scrambling to get on top. There is no respect for low wage essential jobs. there is no respect for content in someones place in the world, everyone needs to push to be millionaires.
I agree whole heartedly with this proposal… that being said I dont think it will catch on.

I have hope that it will catch on. It wasn’t long ago that people said the same of us leaving the EU.

Replacing a bunch of unelected old money with a bunch of unelected new money is not the worse reform made to the House of Lords. The worst part was taking away their power to completely toss out silly legislation. It is vital to restore the full powers to the House of Lords to act as a check and balance on the Commons.

I’m not opposed to it being elected under some kind of PR or reinstating the hereditary peers so long as the more recent appointments are removed.
