Our own homeless, including a large number of veterans - should come before anybody else. This is yet ANOTHER incitement for people, particularly those (mostly men) who have DISPOSED of their ID, to come to the UK. We need a wide-ranging policy to address ALL entitlements and incitements to enter this country illegally.

We tend occasionally to forget that people can apply from overseas to come in. there is a system. Stick to it. Don’t permit any other route, and deport anyone who comes in other than by that system, with the guarantee that none of them will be ably, ever, to re-apply.

My view is zero tolerance to anyone who enters illegally. The only refugees we shoul take are those who apply for asylum before they enter the country. There are British embassies in every country they passed through giving them multiple opportunities to apply in advance.
I would only grant asylum to old, sickly and disabled men or at the very least men accompanied by their families. In most cases young, healthy men are not refugees because they should be fighting for their own country. Can you imagine what the UK would be today if young British men were allowed to flee to neutral countries during WW2? These are not the kind of men we want or need and their compliance and cowardice is the reason their own countries are crap.
No to anyone who breaks the law to get here. No to anyone who arrives without ID and no to anyone who comes under false pretences saying they’re a tourist and not leaving on their return flight. Once we start saying no it will save lives because people will stop risking drowning in the channel if they already know the answer is NO!
